BioRhythms: What's happening now in healthcare communications.

My canoe-te: sea kayaking to Cambridge BioMarketing.

When I first moved to Boston from New York to come work at CB, I decided that it would be nice to live close to the agency. Not so close that I could actually see the building I work in, but close enough so that I could get here within a half hour or so. I chose to live in the North End—which is Boston’s Italian neighborhood. What makes it great is that it’s close to everything, including the water.

And the water got me thinking.

As a kid, I spent a lot of time on boats but in recent years, I had become increasingly landlocked. Then it hit me: what if I could sea kayak to work? Our office is right on the Charles River, and my apartment is 2 blocks from Boston Harbor. The only thing that worried me was going through the locks that separate the Charles from the harbor. I checked with the helpful people at Charles River Canoe & Kayak, who assured me that any vessel—including sea kayaks—could pass through the locks without a problem.

My Canoe-te

As you can see from the picture, I no longer commute. I canoe-te!

See you on the water.
